In its second year running, the iconic Snowy Mountains are set to host the ulimate mountain bike experience with a new addition in the mix.

Starting at an altitude of 1260 metres, the 100-kilometre, five-stage course consists of rugged mountain terrain, technical single track, a mammoth ascent, and some awe-inspiring downhills.

In 2016, race organisers In2Adventure have added a new stage with the ‘Thredbo All Mountain Descent’, which includes a chairlift that takes competitors to within a stone’s throw of Australia’s highest peak. What follows is nine kilometres of epic downhill on Thredbo’s new all-mountain trails.

The Snowies MTB Festival is also arguably Australia’s most affordable and logistically convenient MTB stage race, meaning you can just enjoy the epic riding that the Snowies offer.

Tackle all five stages as a solo, share the stages between a team of two or three, or choose to do the 45-kilometre marathon. There are also 30- and 15-kilometre options.

What: Five-stage MTB stage race
Where: Snowy Mountains
When: 12-to-14 February 2016
