Port Macquarie plays an important part in Australia’s Ironman history.
For the past 30 years it has played host to Ironman Australia, which has seen a who’s who of the world’s long-course elite test themselves over the challenging course. But fear not, if a full iron-distance event amounts to biting off more than you can chew, Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie lets you race the iconic course, just not all of it.
Situated halfway between Sydney and Brisbane and surrounded by native rainforest and the Tasman Sea, it’s little wonder Port Macquarie has been an epicentre for long-course racing for so many decades. This will be recognised in 2015 with Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie doubling as the Australian Age Group Championship.
