World Champion Raelert brothers sign with Orca for the next three years for their wetsuit, swim, compression apparel and swim goggles

Orca has secured the sponsorship of two of the world’s most successful triathletes, who are also brothers, Andreas and Michael Raelert.

The German duo join the Orca and Orbea team on three year wetsuit, swim and compression apparel, and swim goggle contracts. Both had a very successful 2010 season, with Michael taking out his second 70.3 World Championship and Andreas winning the European Ironman Championship. Anticipation is now building for Kona 2011 where, in Michael’s debut Kona race, the brothers will take on the challenge of going 1, 2 at the Ironman World Champs.

“It’s a fantastic result to get two of arguably the world’s best male triathletes wearing Orca,” said Jon Coloma, Global Brand Manager of Orca. “Over the years we’ve been involved with a number of world champions in all disciplines of triathlon, and adding the Raelert brothers to our current team of long distance world champions including the likes of Chris McCormack and Craig Alexander is really exciting.”

“As strong swimmers the Raelert brothers take their wetsuit needs seriously and so Orca wetsuits are an obvious fit; and Orca’s all new range of swim goggles, swim training gear and compression products compliment their training needs perfectly,” says Jon.

Orca sponsored athletes include Craig Alexander, Chris McCormack, Courtney Atkinson, Emma Moffat, Josef Ajram and others in triathlon and sports including free diving, kite surfing and endurance distance swimming.

The new Orca summer range will be launched in Australia in September 2011 and includes triathlon wetsuits and apparel, compression wear, swim wear, goggles and accessories.
