Cups and Champs on the ITU 2010 calendar

The International Triathlon Union (ITU) has been busy with its calendar.
After the success of their maiden World Championship Series (WCS) in 2009, dates and spectacular world race venues have been locked in for 2010.
The Dextro Energy ITU World Championship Series is the global triathlon series at the highest level of the sport. It represents an innovative change by creating seven first class World Championship events and a Grand Final rather than a one-day World Championship event.
Complementing the series is the ITU Triathlon World Cup. The Cup races give top elites a chance to score extra World Series points through the integrated system and developing athletes are provided with an opportunity to earn starting places in the hotly contested WCS.
Australia will host the opening Cup race of the year in Mooloolaba, getting the season underway on 28th March, with Sydney hosting the first race of the Dextro Energy ITU WCS just two weeks later.
All of the events will be filmed and televised around the world on ITU’s global magazine show. Visit www.triathlon.org for more details.
