The event’s biggest ever field of 650 triathletes took on the 1.9 kilometre swim, 90.1 kilometre ride and 21.1 kilometre run with Matty White (SA) and Lisa Marangon (NSW) earning top podium places.

Every finishing athlete is now eligible to enter Ironman Australia (Port Macquarie) 2010. There are five remaining Ironman Australia validating races including the Gold Coast half Ironman, Port Macquarie half Ironman, Shepparton half Ironman, Canberra half Ironman and the final of the series, Ironman 70.3 Geelong.
