Rising long course star Clayton Fettell to Race 2XU Falls Creek Triathlon – 2012 Australian Long Course Championships this February.

SuperSprint is thrilled to have one of the rising stars in the sport – Clayton Fettell race at Falls Creek. Clayton recently place a sensational second in the Wildflower Triathlon one of the toughest half Ironman races in America.

“I’m really looking forward to Falls! I was entered in the inaugural event, but had an injury so was very disappointed to have missed it, especially when I saw the photographs and heard all the great reports about the race.

“I’m also pretty happy that it is a Saturday race with an event party that night, because you don’t get the opportunity at many races to celebrate with other competitors after the race,” said Clayton yesterday.

Clayton has one of the best swim/bike combinations in the sport drawing many comparisons to Craig Walton. At only 25, he has a great future and is focussing his efforts on long course racing with a burning ambition to do well in Hawaii. He lives in Lennox Heads on the northern coast of NSW and trains with his coach Grant Giles.

The 2XU Falls Creek Triathlon is hosting the 2012 Australian Long Course Championships and Clayton will be certainly test the field against the likes of Luke Bell, Mitch Anderson, Jan Rehula and a host of elite competitors.Words: Pierre Meneaud
