Victorian Gatorade Series 2010/11 kicks off this weekend!

The first race of the 2010/11 Victorian Gatorade Triathlon Series is set to kick off with a bang in St Kilda this Sunday.
Defending champions to hold off the Gatorade Triathlon Series’ biggest pro field!
Race 1 of the Gatorade Triathlon Series 2010/11 at Catani Gardens in St Kilda on Sunday 21st November 2010, is on track to be one of the most hotly contested races this summer.
Defending series champions Madeleine Oldfield and Peter Kerr, who recently placed 3rd in the Noosa Triathlon, will be back to defend their titles against a host of in-form talent – the event’s biggest pro field for a series opener.
Amongst the Pro’s is 2009 Australian Junior Triathlete of the Year Jamie Huggett, ex-AFL footballer Tim Clarke who’s first season in triathlons lands him at the Elite level, and ACT Dom Aungles who was selected to represent Australia in the 2010 World Championships.
Three time Series winner Kristian McCartney only last week landed back in Australia for his first race of the season, which will see him up against the best in the business, including long-time rival, Geelong based Adam Beckworth.
Amongst the female Pro’s, it is great to see New South Welshwomen Melissa Vandewater upping the field this weekend. Vandewater is the 2009 Nepean Triathlon and NSW Olympic Distance Champion, and will prove a tough competitor as she battles it out against Oldfield.
The Active Feet Fun Tri, held in conjunction with the Gatorade Triathlon Series, is set for a record field of beginners and social competitors taking on the short course and making a start in triathlons.
